I am an Art Historian and current doctoral candidate at The Graduate Center, CUNY. I grew up in Metro Detroit and went to The Roeper School for 12 years, where I graduated from high school. I discovered Art History and Classics during my undergraduate studies at Kalamazoo College, and studied abroad at the American University of Rome in 2012. In June 2014 I graduated magna cum laude from Kalamazoo College and received the Michael Waskowsky Prize for excellence in Art and Art History. After graduation, I moved to New York, where I worked in museums and digital archives. In August 2016, I relocated to Iowa City to pursue a graduate degree in art history. I was supported by fellowships and assistantships while I completed my MA. I currently reside in New York, where I worked as Collection Manager for a historic acquisition at the American Numismatic Society before beginning my doctorate in August 2019. In June 2023, I received an MPhil from CUNY after completing six semesters as a professor of art history at Lehman College in The Bronx. I also teach adjunct at City College as an instructor in the history of architecture.

My art historical research focuses on Italian Modernism and its close ties with Fascism and political propaganda. My undergraduate research focused on the representation of the male nude in the Stadio dei Marmi at the Foro Italico sport complex. My MA qualifying paper focused more closely on the representation of the animal in Arturo Martini and Marino Marini’s interwar sculptures.
